Dear Chung:
Thank you for your kind response. I hope that I have addressed you correctly in the salutation. That is the way I address my dear friend Sung.
Sung and his family, by the way, are another inspirational example of people who have responded to tragedy with courage and resourcefulness. A spinal injury and paralysis of a son. They have sought out any and all treatment's and have had remarkable success. The boy has now finished university and has found a good job. Sung added a special wing to his house and his wife even journeyed back to Taiwan to learn acupuncture technique.
I find your posts on the den list very moving and inspirational. I never skip over them quickly. Please continue.

Frank:
I happened to read your Mar 20 response to Hanching's Mar 19 post just I was getting ready for my first date with a woman since my wife died about a year ago. It helped give me much needed courage at that moment, for a "ritual of revival". Thank you both.
"The remedy for dying is living". That old Chinese was wise. This old American has been learning that recovering from the loss of a beloved spouse is not like recovering from the flu. Returning to "normal" will be returning to a very different normal. Having absorbed some Deming philosophy has been a help to me. I started reading the Denlist about six months ago thinking I knew a lot about quality, SPC and Deming. It has been a humbling but heartening experience. One of these days I hope to feel confident enough to start posting again myself.
Although both of your messages were consistent with the aim of the DEN, it shows that the consequences of actions can spread far beyond the immediate intention. I have been told, since she died, of many of her little kindnesses that had profound, long remembered effects. The full impact of her presence in the world cannot be measured. I just wish that I could tell her how wonderful she was.
And would that we could somehow let WED know how far the ripples from his efforts have spread over this planet.

I have just uploaded Peter Scholtes' scheduled events to his site. I thought you might be interested:
Also I just updated MAQIN's site. Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions. Juran will speak at the 12th Annual Hunter Conference this year (as will Peter for the 12th strait year - a record).
And recently I posted Gerald Suarez's site, Interactive Seminars and Consulting:
Please let me know your suggestions or comments.
Enjoy,

I wanted to let you know about, Curious Cat Careers:
the latest addition to the Curious Cat Management Improvement site.
Please share any suggestions or comments you have, for this new section, or for the rest of the site.
There is no cost to use Curious Cat Careers (either to post jobs or to look for jobs). We are piloting this new service now. At this time we are only interested in jobs (and jobs in organizations) that we think positively contribute to our view of Quality (Deming related - as can be seen from our site and the ideas of Deming, Box, Scholtes, Ackoff, Joiner, Langford.
Please feel free to forward this to others and, when you think it would help, let those you know with job openings or those looking for jobs know about our site.
Thanks,
John Hunter
